Works for Me Wednesday: Quick Cooking for Kids

Here is a tip that may make your life with toddlers and preschoolers a little easier.

Go ahead and buy a toaster oven. They are very inexpensive. I have always cooked chicken nuggets, fish sticks, and popcorn shrimp in our little gem. It is so much easier, quicker and more energy efficient than heating up your conventional oven.

Melanie - great idea! I had a toaster oven for years and only used it to occasionally toast bread. What a waste. I finally got rid of it. Do you prefer the toaster oven to the microwave?? Anything that gets the children in the kitchen and productive is a plus in my book. :)

This has been a life saver for me! I have been using the toaster oven for 10 years for the boys nuggets, fish sticks, etc.

Quick cooking for kids?! I use the toaster oven for me! LOL I love it for reheating leftovers from mom or a restaurant (I live for leftovers!). My toaster oven is big enough to accommodate a 12-inch pizza!

My friend and I were just talking about toaster ovens last night - how she uses hers for 'cooking' fish sticks, tater tots, etc. for her kiddos. I chimed in to mention that I use mine to reheat leftovers. Hey, I live an exciting life, too!

Great suggestion! I'm sure others will benefit from it because it is a timesaver, esp. for mamas!

I enjoy reading your blog!

I came across your blog- And I had to say that with three little ones (ages 4, 2 1/2, and 11 months) I could live without my toaster oven!
