It has rained all day and there are tornado watches all over the southeast.
I can't help but think about this story-

Hi M - you know we are in Bama...we have been huddled in our basement all afternoon. All schools let out and work dismissed. It's been bad. Hubby is fishing down South Alabama just above where a high school was devastated and 8 deaths.

We live in Georgia, so I can relate. One night a few years ago, we had a tornado warning. The rain was terrible, lightening like I've never seen before. For once, I was getting scared. My daughter, who is a meteorologist and worked at the Weather Channel, called and told us to take cover. What does my husband do? He stands with the front door open, watching the rain. Refused to move. The next day, we realized that the tornado had hit about 1/4 mile away from our house, right at the end of our street.
And I bet, if it happened again, he'd do the same thing.
Yep, I remember this story...a classic!
And I have never really lived in tornado country, but have had those reoccurring dreams where I'm always escaping one! Too many Wizard of Oz viewing at an early age...;)
Be safe. . .make sure you've got your mattress handy and in your bathroom so when you climb in the tub you can pull it over on top of you. (Please, tell me I'm not the ONLY one who was taught to do that as a child of the south. . .)
I'm laughing cuz my mama used to always make us put on our shoes before we went to the basement.
