Ike

I can't really write anything today without thinking about all the people already feeling the effects of Hurricane Ike.

If you are fortunate enough, like me, to have the luxury of power, water, and a day without fear, please join with me to pray for these precious people.

Hi Melanie!

I found you over at the Internet Cafe today! I really loved the name of your blog, so I thought I'd stop by and check it out!

I want to thank you for this post today as we live in TX so Ike is headed our way. I left a prayer request on my blog:A Damsel No Longer in Distress"

Thank you for your tender heart and thank you for your prayers! Pretty fabulous to know that God moved your heart to pray for someone you didn't even know!

Bless you dear sister,
Sunny

More thanks for the Texas Gulf Coast. I know YOU know the strength of these storms. Right now, the biggest issue is the flooding that has already begun. Galveston island as well as all of the coastal towns is in for a horrible 36 hours.

Melanie -- I'm just reading this Saturday and, FYI, I've called Roxanne. They are fine, all of her husband's local family is fine, but they (and millions of their closest friends) are without power. They may (I'm guessing they will) go to her mom's house in N. Louisiana to find some air conditioning! Oh -- they did lose some trees and their fence, but no major structural damage to the house.

Melanie, I see that you are from Georgia...I was born, raised and continue to live there. Where in GA did you live?
