Remembering Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter

Celebrity deaths don't always get to me, but this one did. Steve Irwin has been in my living room, along with his lovely wife Terri, on many occasions. They always brought the most fascinating animals with them. It is sad to say farewell to a real legend. Irwin taught us about animals, respect for all wildlife, and how to pass this down to our children more than any other person since the days of Marlin Perkins.

More than The Crocodile Hunter, the role that made him famous, Irwin was a husband and father. That is truly what we should remember today.

My heart goes out to Terri, a real mom just like me. She is now left to raise her two lovely children without their father.

Please remember the Irwin family during their loss.

Now go hug your own husband and kids.

I know, Melanie. :(
Although I personally only had seen his show a few times, so when my mom told me of his passing, at first I heard without too much emotion.
Then I came across the animal channel last night...they were spotlighting him and his shows because of his death. What got to me was the shows where he was talking about his little girl and helping deliver her as a baby...and then they interviewed his little girl who was saying how much fun it was to be with her dad...
Oh goodness...it was enough to break your heart knowing how she and his wife were grieving.
Hearing him go on and on about his family truly did make my heart sad that he was no longer with us. What a wonderful husband and father he seemed to be!

Sweet tribute, Melanie!
(And I did hug my husband and kids a little harder last night.)

I was SO sad to here this news on Monday morning. You may remember that my son dressed as Steve on Halloween a few years back. I was thinking I might write to Terri via the Australian Zoo. We will certainly miss him.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear the news of Steve Irwin's death. You may remember one of our friends was in a croc or alligator filming with him at Eglin. He said Steve was really a great guy to work with. I am so sad for his family. What a loss.
