I had a post all prepared for today. It really says nothing. A silly rant dusted with sarcasm. You know, the usual.
But I just can't post it.
I keep thinking of Haiti.
Our Compassion sponsored child lives there. I have no idea of where her little village is in relation to the massive earthquake. She could be perfectly safe, unscathed, unaffected. She could be trapped beneath the weight of a collapsed roof.
Or worse.
I think about her family and her friends and wonder if they are safe. I think about her country and what little resources it has to offer.
I think about my God who is with her right now. Even if her tear-stained face is never seen on FoxNews, He sees it. He holds it in his hands and wipes away the pain.
Today I pray for all the faces of Haiti.
I hope you will, too.

we are praying....
Oh I know. The picture on the Fox News website of the crying man holding the baby is breaking my heart. I about lost it when I saw that. I can't even imagine what they must be going through.
Oh, Melanie - I'm so sorry for her and for the ugly places your mind is taking you -
Praying for both of you -
Special prayer for your sponsored child...I remember how I felt when El Salvador had a crisis.
Praying...
Compassion International has a crisis fund that will channel funds to the Haiti situation. I am praying for them as well - and especially for your sponsored child. I hope you will have some news soon.
Your post reminds me of when I was a child. I had a pen pal in Turkey, and there was a big earthquake there. I never heard from her again, and I always wondered what happened to her.
Hugs to you during this time.
I'll pray too! Our Compassion child in is Thailand. Keep hope!
