My cat, Miss Congeniality.

Maggie, our family's juvenile delinquent, has been in the kennel for an entire week. Our very sweet neighbor offered to care for her while we were gone, but I just couldn't ask her to scoop the litter box for that many days. I mean, y'all just don't realize how much my cat eats.

'Nough said.

When we arrived at the kennel to pick her up, I already knew what to expect. As usual, she was "not happy."

One of the kennel techs looked at my daughter and said,"I really want to love your cat."

Sweet Deb, the kind, brave woman who takes care of Maggie, said that Maggie did let her pet her on the nose once today. This is real progress! During her last stay, Maggie climbed on Deb's head.

I have come to believe that only a small portion of the boarding fee is for food, water, and other basic needs. Most of the boarding fee goes toward employee hazard insurance.

And a whole lotta therapy.

So glad you're back. There aren't many bloggers who are as committed...er...consistent with bloggy updates.

And I need the distraction.

I haven't dared to put our new kitten in a kennel yet. Now I'm a little scared.

the first time I went on a long trip, I asked my brother and sister in law to watch my cat. They were kind enough to take her into their home for the duration.

She cried and cried and cried the first night, so my sister in law went to my house and took a shirt of mine that hadn't been washed.

My cat walked over and smelled it and promptly peed all over it!!!

I don't think I could mistake her feelings towards me at that time...

Blessings,
Karla

my childhood cat woulda torn the entire place down... she would terrorize our house when we were on vacation and had someone come over to take care of her.
those cats... just like us women sometimes! when angry, its a force to be reckoned with!

Welcome back. Sounds like some catnip treats might be in order?

At least your cat came equipped with a personality. Mine is sort of like an orange rug...

Hope you had a great vacation! Looking forward to hearing some about it all...

(I just posted part one on mine, which is amazing since we were only gone for a weekend! heehee)

Does the kennel cost go to pay for therapy for who- the cat or the kennel workers...or both? LOL

And speaking of your Maggie...if you stop by, be sure to check out one of the replies...presumably written by our dog, Mandy!

The only time our cat of 8 years would tolerate me was when we returned from vacation, because she was so starved for human attention.

But after 20 minutes of purring and rubbing my leg, it was back to annoyance.

"Who ARE you anyway, and why do you NOT follow the Queen's orders? Infidel woman!"

We had an interesting relationship.
