Tired

I am a passionate person. I feel fully, give freely and commit completely. You will never wonder where I stand on an issue. If there is a choice to make, I can make it. Whether it is a paint color, new pair of shoes or a politician, I know what I like and I know what I don't like.

Unfortunately, the people around me know, too.

This may seem like a positive trait, especially to those who stand in the paint aisle for hours looking at swatches.

But it's not. Let me tell you. Having a definite opinion means that when there is an issue at hand, that opinion flames up. That passion for the cause drains every ounce of energy, mentally and physically.

It'll wear you slap out.

What I'm trying to stay is that I'm tired.

I'm tired of the news.

I'm tired of wondering where my family's savings is going. Wondering how (not if) my daughter will bear the debt of a spending spree so flippantly approved with the stroke of a pen.

I'm tired.

I'm tired of people trying to make me feel guilty for using plastic.

I'm tired of people saying I'm a bad mother for using chemicals to clean my house.

I'm tired.

I'm tired of Al Gore screaming that he's too hot.

I'm tired of watching my government completely ignore half of the country and pandering to the half that got them elected.

I'm. Tired.

So if you stop by here and I sound like my feathers are ruffled, well it's because they are.

And if you stop by and I'm not here for a day or so, it will be because I just took myself a nap, a respite from the madness.

Right after I put all my money under the mattress.

"Senior version of Jesus Loves Me"
Here is a new version just for us who have white hair or
no hair at all. For us over middle age (or even those almost
there) and all you others check out this newest version
of Jesus Loves Me.

JESUS LOVES ME
Jesus loves me, this I know,
Though my hair is white as snow
Though my sight is growing dim,
Still He bids me trust in Him.

(CHORUS)

YES, JESUS LOVES ME.. YES, JESUS LOVES ME..
YES, JESUS LOVES ME FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

Though my steps are oh, so slow,
With my hand in His I'll go
On through life, let come what may,
He'll be there to lead the way.

(CHORUS)

When the nights are dark and long,
In my heart He puts a song.
Telling me in words so clear,
"Have no fear, for I am near."

(CHORUS)

When my work on earth is done,
And life's victories have been won.
He will take me home above,
Then I'll understand His love

(CHORUS)

I love Jesus, does He know?
Have I ever told Him so?
Jesus loves to hear me say,
That I love Him every day.

Now you weren't at all referencing me with the paint color thing were you? Because I finally did make a decision yesterday! ;v)

I can totally relate to being passionate and opinionated. Well except when it comes to paint color.

Susanne-
I had this post auto-posted and then read your paint post this morning. What a coincidence! Glad you found a color you like.

I know what you mean. Take a nap.

I second that.

Our pastor says that sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is take a nap.

You go take that nap.

I'm down with the nap. In fact, I took one myself this afternoon. . .at 4:53. It was totally unplanned. I got a good night's rest, and gave a standardized test today, and peeled children off the ceiling who had been testing for 4 hours this morning, and helped to break up a fight before 8th period, and WHEN I GOT HOME I took off my bra and got into bed without telling anyone. Tony walked in to find me in bed, and I said, "I'm tired."

You can also not watch the news. I promise you, from experience, that NOT watching the national news will make your life much more relaxing. We moved to the country and don't get any channels anymore. . .and we decided to not get cable OR satellite t.v. We watch taped episodes of Discovery channel from school.

Rest, friend.

Just call me Rumplestiltskin becasue I'm gonna need a really, really, really long nap too to be able to let go of some of this garbage. You're not alone!

Amen to everything you just said. I keep telling my husband to quit putting a 'house payment' in our 401K every month until we can get out of this mess some. I feel like you, just put it under the mattress. Global warming? What global warming. We have had the coldest Jan. & Feb. in years. Plastics? SO WHAT! Oh how I wish we lived close to each other. We have so much in common:) I watch Rush Limbaugh everyday from 12-3 but I never watch Fox anymore because it is just maddening. Now after my rant, I might just go bake something & eat it all:)

Yes, I agree! It amazes me that things I can do nothing about always exhaust me far more than things that I can. I'm a counseling intern and writer. If I can listen to your share your soul or speak to you with words on a page, I can handle anything you've got. But tell me about some decision or tragedy which I can't help and I'm ready to go to bed for the day! (:
This is my first visit to your site! I'm glad to be here...
